Who we are

How It Started: In 2023, I discovered padel while holidaying with family in Bali. We started playing on the sandy courts of Uluwatu, from the very first rally, I was hooked. The fast pace, the laughter, and the fact that the ball never really left the court — I loved it.

Not long after, I became pregnant with James. When James was just three months old, a local indoor padel club opened in Browns Bay, Indoor Padel. We were lucky enough to start playing there — and thanks to the kind owner, she would keep an eye on James sleeping in his pram court side while I got to play a few games.

Then came even more good luck — four outdoor courts opened in Albany at Pacific Padel. Suddenly, we were spoilt for choice. We kept playing, practicing, and improving — huge thanks to my coach Camila for her support.

Over time, padel evolved from a sport into a community — and that community has become family. I’ve met incredible people through padel and I’m so grateful for the love and support shown to both Padel Addict and @nzpadelgirl along the way. NZ Padel Girl is a social media page i created to lead the way for people in New Zealand and around the world to understand padel.

The Spark

It all began with a simple problem: I needed a padel bag that actually worked for me. Everything I found was too big, too bulky, or just didn’t feel right. I wanted a bag that looked stylish but still had a place for everything — shoes, racket, drink bottle, phone, sunnies — all in one organised spot. I wanted something I was proud to carry, that felt like part of my lifestyle, not just another piece of equipment. But nothing out there matched the vibe. That’s when I realised there was a gap — players like me wanted gear that looked good, felt good, and performed well. Due to the need for better gear Padel Addict was born — for purposeful padel gear that brings both style and performance together. We’re not about overcomplicated or oversized. We’re about smart design — gear that’s functional, modern, and something you actually want to wear.

Padel Addict gear is made for real players — the ones who love a sunny day on court, who stay for “just one more match,” who travel with their racket wherever they go. It’s for players who want gear that keeps up with their energy and their lifestyle.

Building a Community
